Carbon credit trading, over the last five years:

At a glance, you'll notice that the three graphs have very similar trends. So, while gold is supposed to hedge stock markets and carbon trading is supposed to be independent of stock markets, they all move together and that is because they are all part of the same financial system, a system built on pure self interest. A system of finance that cuts 10,000 jobs in one day to increase share price and profits is not a system I want my children to have to deal with: http://edition.cnn.com/2008/BUSINESS/11/13/bt.job.cuts.ap/index.html

While the financial markets of greedy are weak, now is the opportunity to change the way things work. A financial system build on Rainforest bullion would expand as Rainforests grow and shrink if Rainforests shrink. Rainforests are the most valuable assets on our planet today so they are by definition the logical and only appropriate bullion for a new global currency - http://www.greenpeace.org/international/news/eu-forest-bail-out-falls-short171008:

"International — Forest destruction is costing the global economy US $2 to $5 trillion per year — more than Wall Street has lost since the start of the current financial crisis. After stalling for years, the European Commission has finally come out with a proposal for illegal logging legislation and recommendations to tackle deforestation. Unfortunately, the law doesn’t do enough to address deforestation and illegal logging or what it is really costing us. "

If we work together we can make important positive changes happen together and for the good of all. We need to Believe in ourselves, just as much as the new leader of the free world believes in us.

Please post your thoughts and ideas on the subject and let's discuss what we can do.

The time is now and the answer is yes, we can do it.

Cheers, Lloyd

The Time is NOW in November 2008 by Lloyd A.

While everything else is crashing in value, Ancient Forests are just going up in value:
http://edition.cnn.com/2008/TECH/sci...one/index.html

If we don't act we lose the rainforests through increased poverty and desperation and then more climatic chaos. And if the global cooperation’s and trillionaires act first on this opportunity we lose the biggest opportunity of our time to make sure things are done right for once.

If we act quickly and smartly then the impossible is possible.
