Planet Car Club is helping communities across the UK set up their own car clubs.
Sell your car (or your second car), hire the one outside your house by the hour and only when you need it, save money, cut your emissions, and be part of your community again.
Planet will help you get a vehicle, help set up a co-op of members, host an online booking system and be there for advice and assistance all the way through the process. If you have a commercial car club in your area already and prefer to use them, Planet may be able to liaise with them to get a car put on your street. Planet Car Clubs is part of Our Future Planet, a non-profit organisation which gets people designing systems and taking action for a more sustainable and beautiful future. Planet is currently exploring joint working with Carplus, the national charity for sustainable car use, specifically on their launch of a national network of car clubs.
Carplus plan to do on a national scale (across England) exactly what we are doing on a local scale. We hope that together we can set up multiple small clubs all over the country, and begin to change the way people think about and use cars.
