Hi Patricia, I am interested in the day to day activities of the crew there. I am a retired Biologist and dreaming of finding a way to "white bottom of the earth" for 25 years. I however am battling cancer (lymphoma) for 2 1/2 years and have to wait until I'm told I am in remission. I am also a poet. I am mostly alone but for my two wonderful dogs, and would love to keep up with what you are all doing. Evidence you are gathering about climate change etc. Hope you are all well and staying safe and warm. Namaste, Carol Kaplan

Hi Talie, I have been a world traveler. I spent quite a bit of time in Japan and covered India from top to bottom. I encourage you to visit India. My experiences there were amazing. I am often homesick for India and hope to go back. I have however dreamed of getting to Antarctica for many years. I am a green person and very concerned about global warming. I would love to participate in animal studies if that were ever possible. For now, while I recover and fight the big C I will be satisfied with communication with you. Thanks. Namaste, Carol Kaplan

Hi Talie, I just read all your blogs. They brought back so many fond memories of my hiking days and travel. I am confined to bed the last few days. Still recovering from radiation sickness which could take a few more months yuk, but reading about your adventure was like getting out for me. New Zealand is another place on my "bucket list" if I am able. Do you think there is any chance they would let me on to the ice in summer for a stint if I am in cancer remission? Or would they worry that I'd be a potential medical drag? Namaste, Carol ----------

Carol, I don't know what their policies are for the "PQ" process (that's the physical qualifications). They gave me a pretty intense physical before I went (and then a psyche test before I wintered!). I always figure I might as well "go for it" - and the worst that can happen is that someone says "no"! I figure they can't say "no" if I don't push the question! :-) I am picturing you in good health so you can get to New Zealand and Antarctica! Peace! Talie
