About Us

Wolfe’s Neck Farm is a nonprofit demonstration farm located in Freeport that is dedicated to the preservation of open space, sustainable agricultural, environmental education, and outdoor recreation. The Farm’s agricultural program strives to be an incubator for improved agricultural practices and to help preserve and revitalize farming in Maine.

Through hands-on learning experiences, the Farm’s education program builds understanding of the need for sustainable agriculture, environmental stewardship, and healthy living. Emphasis is placed on raising awareness of the benefits of food that is grown in home gardens or on local farmland, without the use of chemicals that are harmful to the environment. The Farm’s educational programming includes field trips, full-week “Farm School” programs for students from preschool through grade 12, service learning projects, seasonal community events, spring and summer day camp, and classes and seminars for adults learners. Over 5,000 individuals participate in these educational programs annually.

Located on the shores of Casco Bay in Freeport, Maine, the Farm consists of over 600 acres of pasture, salt marsh, tidal beaches, woodlands and historic barns and homesteads. The farm campus, which includes a 3-mile trail network, is open to the public daily at no charge and attracts thousands of visitors each year.

Wolfe's Neck Farm (and the Green Energy Project) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Your donations are tax-deductible and will have an immediate impact. The Farm is open 365 days a year, and you'll be able to see the results of your contribution.
