Located on the rolling prairie at Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage in Northeastern Missouri, the Milkweed Mercantile makes its home in an elegant yet comfortable two-story strawbale building. Powered solely by the sun and wind, the Mercantile demonstrates the exciting viability of renewable energy as well as the aesthetic beauty of natural construction. Onsite seminars, retreats and public events encourage guests to learn about and participate in all aspects of a more sustainable life.

The store enables guests to shop for items chosen to lessen our impact while delighting our senses. Visitors to the Mercantile, whether in person or online, will be treated to a decidedly unstuffy version of green, where learning and enjoying life are given a high priority.
