Leads and manages a highly technical team focused on market and policy impact analysis, covering domestic and international markets and all energy technologies. Reports to the center director, develops and manages the implementation of the goals of the center's strategic plan.
Job Duties
Leads and manages multiple, highly technical teams with diversity of functions, reporting to the center director. Develops and manages the implementation of the goals for the center's strategic plan. Develops group mission, vision and goals. Encourages the formation of supportive teams. Ensures quality standards are met or exceeded. Manages staffing needs and works to meet schedules as determined in coordination with technology managers and team leads, with center director concurrence. Conducts technical work in support of the goals of the center and Joint Institute for Strategic Energy Analysis. Ensures adherence to laboratory policies and procedures. Supports equal employment opportunity and affirmative action policies and programs. Acts as a liaison with other groups, offices and centers. Interacts closely with all levels at the laboratory and interfaces frequently with internal and external clients and customers. Follows all ES&H policies and procedures to ensure and maintain a safe work environment. Responsible for SOPs and training for staff to perform assigned duties. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Relevant Bachelor's degree and 10 years of progressively responsible experience including project and team leader experience in a relevant field of work or equivalent relevant education/experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant business or technical discipline or an equivalent level of business or theoretical knowledge. A minimum of 10 years progressively responsible experience including project/team leader experience in a relevant field of work. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, motivate and direct personnel. Excellent project management and budgeting skills, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated problem solving and negotiating skills. Requires a high level of creativity and analytical abilities. Extensive knowledge of best management practices applicable to the specific function. Technical expertise in energy analysis and a proven track record and publications in analysis. Market analytics, public policy and experience with energy sector strongly preferred.
