Description:
• Own, drive, plan, document, and manage identified strategic projects through to completion
• Ready and willing to help internal customer base regarding needed products / services, supplier management, pricing, delivery issues, quality requirements, and support issues
• Develop supplier relationships based on aligned business strategies
• Drive supply base toward Vestas four-sigma standards
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on the Vestas strategic global business strategy
• Negotiate purchasing terms and contracts with supply base in regards to price, lead-time, quality, and customer service
• Perform supplier business reviews for key suppliers
• Track key supplier performance indicators
• Participate in global sourcing and / or procurement projects
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or similar discipline; MBA preferred
• 5 to 10 years experience in commodity sourcing or strategic purchase
• 5 to 10 years in a manufacturing, distribution and service organization
• Purchasing expertise in all areas such as product knowledge, sourcing, supplier management, RFQs, bid analysis, negotiations, contract development / administration, supplier development, problem resolution, risk assessment, cost savings, delivery management, quality improvement, and program management. Must be able to differentiate between tactical and strategic project work
• Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently
• Strong interpersonal relationship skills, strong communication skills, and strong presentation skills
