Visualising Our Water Consumption

Good Magazine shares this handy graphic as a means of visualizing our water consumption, comparing various activities and decisions that we undertake on a daily basis. Although we don’t always have smarter choices available to us, it’s important that we’re aware of the alternatives that exist just the same. We were particularly happy to see that drinking beer leaves less of an impact than coffee, soda and wine so cheers to that.

Interesting. Sure does help to underline the recurring theme:

If you want to reduce your eco footprint, reduce your meat consumption.

I do eat meat, but only 10% of what I used to.

I would dispute a few of the claims though. Unless there is a lot of water involved in uranium mining it is not clear where the water is going. The graphic shows a cooling tower but many nuke stations use sea water cooling and don't "use" any water as such.
