Using the Road to Power Electric Cars

GOOD reports that a German company has received a patent for a road-to-car charging technology. A strip embedded in the road would wirelessly power up electric cars as they travelled over its surface. Sensors would activate the charging process only when an electric car was detected, and radio chips would identify cars for billing purposes.

Ingenious. Another great idea is to use the energy from the roads produced by the traffic. I actually read in an article somewhere that that should take care of all our energy needs.
