This program was shown on the UK's Channel 4 a couple of nights ago, and is beginning its global circulation now. I thought I'd post it here and get some feedback from our readers about its content.
We put the movie here to show we do not hide facts, or propaganda (as the case may be...). We'll look at it. Objectivity is the key to real progress. We just ask, if you take the time to watch the movie, then please also take the time to look at the links we've placed below.
The most alarming thing in my mind, is that the people that endeavour to push aside global warming science are very keen to push aside any concern over environmental issues, period. If the waters are not lapping at their doorsteps, then who cares about gross pollution, disease, energy mismanagement, species loss and human and wildlife habitat destruction, etc. This says a lot in itself. What are our priorities here - pulling the 'comforter' over ourselves, so we can go back to sleep, or facing the serious environmental concerns that confront our society and our planet - global warming or not?
The movie linked below is very clear in its purpose - encouraging apathy right at a time when unity of purpose is needed. Be aware of the contents, but don't stop there. Read the articles in the 'Further Reading' section below, and be a little wiser.
Update: I truly wonder if this director, Martin Durkin, will ever make another documentary again. Perhaps he should have a go at ... er... science fiction. Along with the excellent post referenced below, an earlier post from Reasic brought a circa 2000 post from Monbiot to our attention - which talks about the controversy involved in his earlier documentary attempts, including one that ultimately had Channel 4 publicly apologising for airing. You'd think they'd have learnt something from the experience...

A Leading US climate scientist is considering legal action after he says he was duped into appearing in a Channel 4 documentary that claimed man-made global warming is a myth. Carl Wunsch, professor of physical oceanography at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, said the film, The Great Global Warming Swindle, was 'grossly distorted' and 'as close to pure propaganda as anything since World War Two'.
He says his comments in the film were taken out of context and that he would not have agreed to take part if he had known it would argue that man-made global warming was not a serious threat. 'I thought they were trying to educate the public about the complexities of climate change,' he said. 'This seems like a deliberate attempt to exploit someone who is on the other side of the issue.' He is considering a complaint to Ofcom, the broadcast regulator. - GuardianProfessor Wunsch said: "I am angry because they completely misrepresented me. My views were distorted by the context in which they placed them. I was misled as to what it was going to be about. I was told about six months ago that this was to be a programme about how complicated it is to understand what is going on. If they had told me even the title of the programme, I would have absolutely refused to be on it. I am the one who has been swindled." - Independent
