The Breathing Earth

Craig Mackintosh

Assuming the guy doing all the data-entry is on the ball, this is an incredible resource tool. Check out the Breathing Earth, where you can see people being born, and dying, in real time. Hover over each country to see it's population, and how much CO2 it generates nationally.

For example, it takes the U.S. only 5.4 seconds to generate a 1000 tonnes of CO2, China 9.2 seconds (check back in a couple of years...), the United Kingdom just under a minute, New Zealand 15 minutes, and the Democratic Republic of Congo just under five hours.

Also, compare the birth rate in India to elsewhere.
