Rooftop parties affording views of Tel Aviv’s skyline and the Mediterranean Sea are common in Israel. Party planners seek out venues with great rooftops so that the late night party set has atmosphere AND a view.

The latest add-on to roof partying is Tel Aviv’s Eco-Yoga rooftop craze. They’re yoga/awareness events aimed at raising money (and awareness) around urban greenery.

Each week, revelers hit appointed rooftops for a yoga session followed by lectures and films on “green” topics i.e. keeping the city green, composting, urban ecology…After there is…a party (of course) taking yogis late into the night.

The evenings are hosted by several of the city’s yoga studios and Tel Aviv urban organization city tree – a non-profit working to promote public urban gardening and greenery, composting and recycle and healthy eco habits.
