If you are in the market for a new pair of kicks, why not pick up a pair of TOMS? TOMS have two special styles for sale exclusively on their website, all proceeds of which are going to help the organization Charity: Water.
Money raised through the sales of the Water Project Shoe will go towards building a new water well in Sekura, an Ethiopian village. The shoes will be available for as long as it takes to raise the funds needed to construct the hand-dug well.
In accordance to the TOMS philosophy, the shoes are constructed from sustainable and ethical materials and their One for One policy will continue to apply. This policy states that for every pair of shoes purchased, TOMS will provide a pair of shoes to a child in need.
Charity:Water is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. Over the last three years they have raised over 18 million dollars in donations and have funded around 2,500 water related projects.
Together it is hoped that TOMS shoes and Charity:Water will be able to provide the people of Sekura with access to clean, safe drinking water to help with everyday village life. Sekura is home to 540 residents and among the largest Ethiopian villages to not currently have ready access to clean water.
If you want to learn more about the philosophy behind both groups, their past projects and current initiatives, be sure to visit the TOMS website and Charity:Water and make sure you put your best foot forward!
