(Nothing But) Flowers

Be careful what you wish for. You could wind up going to the other extreme than the one you are fighting against. This is one of the wry themes to Talking Head's "(Nothing But) Flowers", which originally came out in 1988. Sadly, the statistics mentioned throughout the video are still relevant twenty years later.

Coincidentally, I once got an A on a term paper in college entitled, "This Was a Pizza Hut, Now it's a Field Full of Daisies: Flower Symbolism in Four Shakespeare Plays." I owe you one, David Byrne.
