A British organization called Plane Stupid, best known for scaling parliament to protest the expansion of Heathrow airport, has staged another protest, this one involving a charity award recipient named Dan Glass, Gordon Brown and a little something known as super glue. Watch the super gluer extraordinaire interviewed on CNN here or read about it here.
Glass, a member of Plane Stupid, wanted to get some time with the Prime Minister to talk further about the groups opposition to the expansion of Heathrow and the effect that adding a third runway will have on climate change issues. The Prime Minister's office neither ejected Glass from 10 Downing Street nor pressed charges. In fact, they let him hang out for a good 40 minutes more. They may still send Glass a bill for ruining Brown's suit jacket, though.
My initial question was this; when the Prime Minister agrees to give out awards at an event, don't they do background checks on the recipients? And then I remembered, I live in the land of the PATRIOT act, my perspective may be a bit skewed!
