Celsias was founded for you. In late 2005, seven like-minded friends decided to help individuals make a difference about global warming. We started the climate change blog in November 2006 and began to recruit contributors. The Celsias community’s response has been astounding; today, your site is growing at over 50% per month and we soon expect it to top 100,000 visits per month from dozens of countries. This growth is exciting but also humbling for us, and all we can say is a Thank You!
So, where to from here?
The Celsias blog will always be the heart, soul and conscience of the site. However, in keeping with the objective of helping individuals make a difference, we will soon add three new elements - people, projects and funding. Here’s how we envisage Celsias being used (but this is your site so please tell us your ideas):
- Do you know a local stream that could use some help? Create a project on Celsias, recruit volunteers and make it happen.
- Are you a photovoltaic engineer keen to work in West Africa? Upload your CV/resume and find your next project on Celsias.
- Do you want to adopt and support an existing climate change project? Donate your time or money to the project via the Celsias Foundation.
- Simply interested in climate change? No problem, become a registered user and watch dedicated people make a huge difference around the world.

We expect to launch people, projects and funding in July, but we're going to be spilling the beans on our plans incrementally over the next several weeks - so keep an eye out for our next update! Meanwhile, please let us know your ideas by adding a comment here. Thank you again for your continued interest in Celsias!
Stay tuned!
