Isn't it Odd that it's Newsworthy that a GOP Presidential Candidate Agrees -Very Cautiously- with Scientific Consensus on Climate Change

Romney at his best: Below a video from 2003 -it's our favorite.

So what does it mean to your chances to be the Republican candidate for the Presidency when you proclaim that " the world is getting warmer and I believe that humans have contributed to that " . Not profound in any other country. And a very cautious statement of a  real scientific consensus , but   surprising for the GOP Presidential hopeful.

Mitt Romney is widely considered the frontrunner for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination. This despite the fact that some of his actions may be considered liabilities with a number in the GOP.  He supported a health insurance scheme in Massachusetts as Governor, and apparently care and concern for your fellow citizens or the planet is a liability. Standing up to big oil is apparently wrong.

The interesting thing is actually that Romney states something that is obvious to most of the world, and says it very cautiously . He hasn't even attempted to offer any solutions, just the admission that the vast majority of climate scientists are probably correct...but because he is a GOP Presidential hopeful it's considered newsworthy. Strange, but true.

Have the GOP considered that in order to get a broad constituency they may need to straddle some very middle ground which will include a good number of people who are concerned about climate change?
