One of the near-casualties of the Bush 43 era was the Clean Water Act, which has its origins in the 1972 Nixon administration. Now, the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee has approved the Clean Water Restoration Act, which will go to a full Senate vote. No surprise here, the Senate Committee's ranking Republican member, James Inhofe (R - Exxon Oklahoma) is outraged.

Large factory farms in the U.S. are feverishly lobbying against federal climate regulations. The skeptic in me wonders why large factory farms don't apply this same intensity to ensuring the safety of our foods.

Russian energy company Gazprom and America's Dow Chemical Company have agreed to form an alliance to address climate change...through the magic of carbon credits and not much else.
