A Guardian article yesterday reported that China and the United States have been in secret climate negotiations.  What might come as a surprise:

"A high-powered group of senior Republicans and Democrats led two missions to China in the final months of the Bush administration..."

It seems the two of the world's top polluters have been working to bring an end to an impasse on reducing emissions.  Let's see what happens come fall.
