Year 3 of living in our current house I installed 2 of these, the difference in fuel usage was very noticeable. The only thing that saved me more money (used less fuel) was when I replaced the 40 year old furnace with an energy efficient model. The thermostats though easily paid for themselves within the year, and they were not difficult to install.

Have installed a programmable thermostat this year at my current residence, and done the same in 2 others over the past4 years. It's a great way to conserve energy.
