In the home, replace your shower head with a low flow shower head. Add a brick or plastic bottle filled with water, to the toilet tank.

When you have to haul every drop of water to your place, it's amazing how far you can go to conserve water. We have a 300 gallon water tank that has to be filled when it gets emptied, that's all the water we have at a time. Now, even if I'm at some one else's house and I am running water, I am very mindful of the water going down the drain.
