Please could you explain a little more about the difference in technologies? Or link to a source of info? I understand CRT = Cathode Ray Tube - the old-style flickering TV monitor. What is a TFT monitor? What are its advantages?

TFT is a technical name for one one of the LCD technologies so you could just read this as "Switch from CRT to LCD".

The main advantages are:
* Uses far less power.
* Lighter, and uses less desk space.
* Less flicker.
* Less electromagnetic radiation.
