Cover your pots while cooking, 988°

Doing so can save a lot of the energy needed for preparing the dish. Even better are pressure cookers and steamers: they can save around 70%!

This makes so much sense! Everything cooks/heats so much quicker when you cover the cooking!

It just makes sense.

Also, use a ring that is no bigger than your pot so you don't go to all the effort of heating the air around your stove!!

There are some very nice insulated pots on Amazon.com. I've found that I can cook at much lower heat settings and leave the pots covered on simmer once they've gotten hot enough. Saves lots of energy.
