Interview with Janet Larsen, Director of Research for the Earth Policy Institute

Leslie Berliant

We've always appreciated the work of the Earth Policy Institute, and have run a lot of their material on our site, as well as recently reviewing their latest book -- Plan B 3.0: Mobilizing to Save Civilization, written by the institute's president and founder, Lester Brown. Recently, Celsias writer Leslie Berliant had opportunity to speak to Janet Larsen, Director of Research for the institute. Before you hit 'play' to hear the podcast below, here's a brief description of the goals of this great research team.

The goal of the Earth Policy Institute is to raise public awareness to the point where it will support an effective public response to the threats posed by continuing population growth, global climate change, the loss of plant and animal species, and the many other trends that are adversely affecting the Earth. The purpose of the Earth Policy Institute is to provide a vision of what an environmentally sustainable economy will look like, a roadmap of how to get from here to there, and an ongoing assessment of this effort, of where progress is being made and where it is not. -- Wikipedia
